    Cyclone

In the vast theatre of the atmosphere, few forces rival the drama of the cyclone. Born from the meeting of heat and ocean, it begins as the faintest stir of wind, a whisper upon the sea. But slowly, inexorably, it gathers—spiralling inwards, building strength, until nature unveils her most powerful dance: a whirling vortex of cloud and storm. Destructive, yes, yet within its symmetry lies an astonishing beauty.

This hand-knotted rug captures that elemental force in fibre. Its design swirls with sweeping arcs and spirals, echoing the eye of the storm and the powerful currents that orbit it. Subtle gradations of colour—deep greys, steel blues, and flashes of silver—recreate the shifting palette of storm clouds and lightning illuminating the sky.

Each knot, laid patiently by skilled artisans, mirrors the cyclone’s paradox: the violence of motion held within a perfect, ordered form. Wool and silk are interlaced to give texture and sheen, recalling the restless surface of wind-driven seas. The result is a surface alive with tension and energy, yet stilled into a work of enduring art.

To walk upon it is to feel the grandeur of nature’s forces—power contained, beauty distilled. More than a rug, “Cyclone” is a tribute to the sublime: a reminder that even in the storm’s chaos, there exists a geometry as intricate and awe-inspiring as any pattern in the natural world.
