    Promontory I

At the edge of the continent, where land thrusts boldly into the sea, stands the promontory. Carved by wind and wave over millennia, these headlands are both guardians and witnesses—watchtowers of stone against the endless motion of the ocean. From their heights, one can see the world in its rawest form: waves hurling themselves against rock, seabirds wheeling in the updrafts, and the horizon stretching unbroken into infinity. Here, nature reveals both its power and its poise.

This hand-knotted rug captures the grandeur of that meeting of land and sea. Its design unfolds in strong, angular forms, echoing the jutting cliffs and sheer edges of a headland. Subtle gradations of colour—earthy ochres and greys balanced by deep marine blues—reflect the eternal dialogue between stone and water, permanence and motion.

Crafted from fine wool and silk, each knot embodies patience, just as the promontory itself is shaped slowly by time’s relentless hand. The surface shimmers softly, much like sunlight striking wet rock after the retreat of a wave.

To walk upon it is to feel the majesty of the headland beneath your feet: solid, enduring, and ever in conversation with the restless sea. More than a rug, “Promontory” is an ode to resilience and perspective, a reminder of the beauty found where land dares to meet the vast expanse of ocean.
